Howdy,

My name’s Josh Irvin, but my buddies call me Indy. The name was given to me while deployed in the Middle East, as I was described by my peers as being a knock-off Indiana Jones. While there, I was voluntold to serve as the unit’s Public Affairs and Relations Specialist, or UPAR, in addition to my regular Infantry duties. I quickly became the de facto ‘cameraman’ for the Company.

A majority of my time was spent editing together videos for family back home, constructing a storyboard of the Company’s activity for Battalion each week, and making ridiculous videos of my buddies fucking around. That last one was my favorite, and gave new meaning to my original callsign.

Indy. The independent film maker/photographer. So when I returned home, I sank a small fortune of Uncle Sam’s money in to gear in order to make the hobby that I previously used to cope with all the bullshit, in to a career. I love what I do, and for good reason.

I’ve been home for coming up on two years now, and I still look back at all those videos I made with the guys. I cherish them endlessly. What I learned as the begrudged UPAR is that it’s all about the memories.
